Sons of the San Joaquin played their 15th annual Christmas show, with over 2,000 in attendance, for two sold out houses at the historic Fox Theater in Visalia, CA.

Autoharp master, Bryan Bowers, ended 2007, having performed over 45 concerts in all areas of the U.S of A. Definitely the hardest working autoharp player in show business!

Plectrafone Records, the old time country music division of Western Jubilee Recording Co, recently traveled to Norman and Nancy Blake’s farm in Rising Fawn, GA and recorded the Blakes with the Boys of the Lough from Edinburgh, Scotland and James and Rachel Bryan of Alabama. Meanwhile, Norman Blake appears, courtesy of Plectrafone Records, on Allison Krause and Robert Plant’s recent release, Rising Sand.

Waddie Mitchell is narrating and performing on Outlaw Trail, a television special from the Paramount Theater in Austin, TX. Waddie will also be returning to host and perform at the 2nd annual Stagecoach Festival in Indio, CA.

Big News…on January 10, 2008 Don Edwards was inducted into the Texas Cowboy Hall of Fame!  This prestigious event was held at the Hyatt Place in the historic Fort Worth Stockyards. Don Edwards debuted his one-man show, ‘Ghost of Jack Thorp’, at the 2008 Elko Gathering. This show is based around the 100 year anniversary of Jack Thorp’s Cowboy Song Book, which was the 1st published collection of American Folk Music.’

Flash Cadillac closed out a busy year playing New Year’s Eve at the Sheridan Opera House in Telluride, CO. Watch for them February 1, 2008; Flash will be headlining Fifties in February at the Surf Ballroom, Clear Lake, Iowa. This will be the 49th annual event to commemorate the final performances of Buddy Holly, Ritchie Valens, and “The Big Bopper.”

Colorado’s premier family band, Sons and Brothers, busy schedule includes recent visits to Silver Dollar City in Branson, Missouri, and Heber City Cowboy Poetry Gathering. Upcoming appearances include the Elko, Nevada Cowboy Gatherings, as well as the 15th annual Melody Ranch Festival in Santa Clarita, CA.

Meanwhile, back at the Western Jubilee Warehouse in Colorado Springs, three DVD projects are in progress on Waddie Mitchell, Don Edwards and Sons of the San Joaquin with Rich O’Brien.
